Mrs. Guzik's Educational Philosophy
Every person has a right to a quality education, which is only possible with quality educators. An excellent teacher is one who creates a safe place for students to be risk takers, has an open heart and is fully present. Students learn in myriad ways. As teachers we have a responsibility to learn about these different learning styles and to develop and adapt in our teaching in order to reach all of our students. Good teachers welcome – and celebrate – divergent thinking and see it as an opportunity to grow in their craft.
A good teacher is knowledgeable about the developmental stages – physical, social/emotional and cognitive – that his or her students are going through and uses this information in planning and teaching. Students grow toward our focus; which means quality teachers state things in the positive rather than the negative. They create a climate of mutual respect and trust.
